What is the Metaverse? Who is it for? Why? How?

What is the Metaverse? Is there only one Metaverse, or are there several metaverses? For whom is the Metaverse intended? What ethical issues does its development raise? What are the blind spots in current debates around the Metaverse? How can we imagine the Metaverse in 10 years? These are some of the questions that were raised during the first edition of our series of events "The Metaverse Dialogues". Check out the answers of four of the experts who took part in the debates, in these short videos.

Renaissance Numérique launched the “Metaverse Dialogues” on Monday 12 December 2022, with a first event mainly devoted to collective narratives and use cases. This first day allowed the twenty experts who were present to compare their vision of the Metaverse. This meeting was also an opportunity to address the main technological, economic and societal challenges posed by the development of the Metaverse, or metaverses.

At the end of this series of three seminars bringing together international experts, deliverables will be produced and widely shared. In the meantime, discover some answers to the questions you may have about the Metaverse / metaverses!
