“OFF-The-Record Meeting” with Stéphane Vojetta and Arthur Delaporte

MP for the 5th district of French citizens living outside France (EPR group), and MP for the 2nd district of Calvados (PS).

Members-only event, Paris

Wednesday 27th November 2024, from 8:30am to 10am

The Renaissance Numérique “OFF-The-Record Meetings” give members of the think tank the opportunity to engage in a privileged dialogue with those involved in public digital policy. Since its launch, this series has welcomed nearly 50 key figures involved in French and European digital policy.

On Wednesday November 27, 2024, we’re delighted to welcome Stéphane Vojetta, MP for the 5th district of French citizens living outside France (EPR group), and Arthur Delaporte, MP for the 2nd district of Calvados (PS).

Both are behind the June 9, 2023 law aimed at regulating commercial influence and combating the excesses of influencers on social media. What was the process behind this law, and how do they perceive the interweaving of French law with the European level? What is the initial assessment of the law’s application? What next steps should be taken?

Following on from the report on children and screens submitted to the government last April, the two MPs have also launched a cross-party initiative with a view to drafting a new bill by the end of the year, aimed at protecting minors from excessive screen use. What exactly do they envisage? How can we provide concrete answers to the proposals put forward by the panel of experts in the report?

These are some of the issues we’ll be discussing with them.
