Launch of the “AI Literacy” Working Group
The inaugural session of the Renaissance Numérique working group (WG) on AI Literacy took place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. This workshop’s objective is to craft concrete recommendations that will help civil society fully leverage the opportunities presented by generative artificial intelligence (GAI) while minimizing its associated risks.
As a transformative force, generative AI impacts all facets of society, including education, employment and citizenship, and raises a wide range of societal, ethical, economic, environmental and political challenges. Recognising and addressing these issues is essential to ensure that both individuals and communities can make informed decisions about its use.
This event marks the beginning of the Renaissance Numérique’s efforts, which are jointly led by Marc Mossé of August Debouzy and Laetitia Orsini-Sharps from Orange, with Soizic Pénicaud, an independent researcher, coordinating the activities. The schedule includes several upcoming workshops and expert panels, culminating in the release of specific and practical recommendations for government officials in the fall of 2024.
